Spacious and comfortable, the 44' cutter,
Storm Petrel is a "captain only" yacht so guests act as crew, helping the
skipper, Phil, cook, sail and navigate.
Phil renovated the vessel himself.
Therefore, the yacht's many complicated systems work, and if they don't, Phil fixes them
on the spot.
Storm Petrel is comfortable. The bimini
awning and spray dodger attach, which shields you from the wind and rain on deck. Her
central cockpit has a table for dining, and acts as a second, out of door saloon. Also,
being steel, she has a lovely sea-kindly, motion, and her insulation keeps condensation
out, so she is dry and snug below.
Phil is a great addition to any party His
sense of humor and friendly, easy going manner assures fun and adventure for children and
adults alike.
Whether in the Caribbean, or off the
coast of New England, your perfect vacation starts when you board the skippered sailing
yacht, Storm Petrel.
The yacht is your floating hotel to take
when and where you please. Land on uninhabited islands. Anchor off picturesque fishing
villages. Catch fresh fish for dinner with one of the trolling or spinning rods on board.
Unwind while viewing the sunset from the hammock as Phil lights the grill and prepares
dinner in Storm Petrel's gourmet galley, packed with all the accouterments.
A vacation on Storm Petrel is like no
other. Leisurely sails allow you to see the world from an unparalleled vantage point. You
choose your itinerary. Whatever your tastes, Phil and Storm Petrel are able to
accommodate. Lounge on deck as the sun beams down. Read while relaxing in the shaded
cockpit. Bring either your own reading material or take advantage of the wide selection of
local guidebooks and nature guides which are a part of the on board library. If you enjoy
listening to music, take advantage of Storm Petrel's first rate sound system which
includes on deck speakers as well as an extensive collection of tapes and CD's ranging
from classical to blues to local music of the Islands. Or, bring your own musical
favorites to enjoy.
For the health conscious traveler, plenty
of exercise options await: swim, snorkel, scuba dive, sailboard in crystalline waters; or,
go ashore and explore the local habitat via foot or bicycle.
After the sun sets and you are ready to
retire, you may do so in your cozy cabin where you will find many of the conveniences of
modern life, like a television and VCR at the foot of your bed!

Your Accommodations
Two double cabins each the full width of
the vessel, one with King size bed aft, the other with two singles that make into a Queen
size bed by use of the filler.

The Saloon
The saloon is a handsome compartment, the
full width of the ship, with blond paneling and U-shaped settee upholstered in a lovely
soft blue textured material. Rheostated, halogen lighting creates pools of light. There is
a large dining table that offers candlelit meals below, and the adjoining well equipped
galley has four work stations. The powerful 85 hp engine is housed in a soundproofed
