Oasis is a modern sailing yacht with all the latest in
communication, navigation and safety gear that make her ideal for cruising in even the
most exotic locals, and, of course all of her toys are state of the art!
After a restful night in one of three air-conditioned very private staterooms, you and
your party will awaken to the aroma of freshly baked bread and a new day tailored to
surpass all of your expectations.
Lounge around in the spacious cockpit while anchored off a tropical island or take the
helm while a gentle trade wind carries Oasis through turquoise bays.

Dan & Sue Artiss + 1
captain and crew
Dan & Sue Artiss + 1,
Dan the skipper is a 30 year old New Zealander who is a qualified commercial skipper as
well as a marine engineer. He started out driving tugboats in Auckland Harbour before
venturing overseas to teach watersports to children on a summer camp in Pennsylvania. His
travels then took him to Europe where he settled in Greece for 3 years. Here he ran
flotilla holidays for families, couples and singles extensively cruising the Ionian Sea.
Once the ouzo and olives were exhausted, he joined the private 28 metre sloop
Alize as engineer/mate cruising the Caribbean and Mediterranean waters for 18
months. He left Alize to run his own show aboard Oasis.' Two years later
and 40,000 miles behind him, he has sailed Oasis to Nova Scotia, the States,
the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Cuba, through the Panama Canal, and across the Pacific
heading back to his home country. Dan is an outgoing, fun and entertaining character. He
likes to windsurf and fish and is a fully qualified rescue diver. He is always keen to
explore new coastlines to whatever your ideal anchorage is -- secluded, calm, and remote
or a lively place to party -- Dan has the ability to find it.
The crew of the Oasis cast their rods religiously every day. So, fresh fish
is a specialty of your cook, Sue. Sue loves to experiment with fresh local ingredients and
create new and exciting dishes for the dinner table. She trained at the Pru Leith School
of Food and Wine in London, and finds her previous work as a graphic designer helps her
with the unique presentation of her dishes. Sue left England 6 years ago to work in Greece
as a flotilla hostess. There she teamed up with Dan for a year before joining the 43 metre
charter yacht Christianne B in the Caribbean as a stewardess. Six months
later, Sue joined Dan on the Alize as stewardess and crew cook. Having now
worked on both private and charter boats, Sue has the ability to adapt to any food tastes.
Although she is the cook, she takes an active role in the sailing of the boat, holds a RYA
yachtmaster certificate, and is a certified diver.
John, the youngest member of the team at 28, has been with the Oasis since
October 97. He has been sailing since the age of 6, predominantly racing boats in
England. Johns background is on the drawing board in Civil Engineering, but like Dan
and Sue the lure of the Mediterranean proved too much. He too found himself in Greece,
managing a
sailing school, teaching sailing, and windsurfing for
three years. It was here that your three crew members met and became good friends. John
soon found himself doing his first transatlantic on Alize.' He quickly secured a
position as second engineer on the private 48 metre ketch Thalia. He stayed
for a year cruising the Caribbean, Venezuela and the Mediterranean before being snatched
away by Dan and Sue. John has a love of all watersports and he is more than happy to put
his sailing school days back into practice.
So three friends have come together; each with an infectious good nature and a fun,
energetic outlook on life. They are what a lot of boats would call a perfect crew -- able
to combine all of their skills and talents to
create an exceptional charter second to none.
