Marcella and Gus Kormann
Chef and Captain
August "Gus"
Kormann
He is the owner and Captain of MAROLANGA. He was
born in Salzburg, Austria, the world-renowned city for its majestic castle, celebrated
opera house, beautiful fountains and birthplace of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Gus' professional background is in graphic design
and typesetting. He successfully operated his own company for 28 years. Europe's liberal
balance of work and vacation time provided him with ample opportunities to pursue his
passion for sailing, as well as other leisure-time activities.
Gus spent 15 years sailing his Olympic catamaran
'Tornado', competing in regattas as well as World and European Championships.
In 1992, he finally received his brand new French
built dream catamaran MAROLANGA. After an enjoyable charter season on the French Riviera,
he sailed MAROLANGA across the Atlantic to explore new waters. MAROLANGA was one of the
show boats at the Miami Boatshow in 1993.
Marcella Kormann
She will be your Chef and First Mate on board
MAROLANGA. Marcella was born in Germany, a stone's throw from the famous Rhine River. She
is also an active sports figure, adept in tennis, skiing, sailing and snorkeling. Marcella
welcomes the opportunity to share her enlightening stories of adventures she encountered
above and below the surface of the water. The fact that cooking is her hobby, will
certainly delight any culinary palate.
Marcella has attended several cooking classes in
health and nouveau gourmet cuisine and offers a health conscientious and flavorful
repertoire to satisfy diversified demands. This does not mean that fans of Hamburgers and
French Fries will be left out in the cold!
Early in 1994, Gus and Marcella sailed from the
Bahamas to the Virgin Islands where they delight their guests with warm and friendly
hospitality.
