Dan and Elizabeth McGuinness
Your Crew
Dan and Elizabeth McGuinness decided to leave their successful careers in business and entertainment law to pursue
their real love
gourmet cuisine and entertaining new friends in the Caribbean aboard
their motor yacht, "The Life of Riley".
While both Dan and Elizabeth can capably captain their vessel,
Elizabeth is the "official" Captain. Occasionally they may bring in a third crew
member to help with things.
Once aboard the beautifully appointed Riley, guests will be treated to
tantalizing meals and tropical beverages, while comfortably cruising the islands of
paradise. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the charter guests experience the vacation
of a lifetime with personalized service in pampered luxury.
Dans varied entrepreneurial background includes among other
things; owning a general insurance agency and manufacturing boats of different sizes,
including runabouts, offshore race boats and even a 46 trawler. Notwithstanding his
diversified business background, Dan is most at home in the galley of "Riley".
Between business ventures, Dan took a sabbatical and studied gourmet cuisine under world
class chefs at the renowned George Brown College. Chef Dan delights in preparing
masterpiece meals in a stunningly arranged presentation.
Elizabeth, ready for a more relaxed pace after over twelve years of
practicing law, decided it was time to make the move to full time chartering aboard
"The Life Of Riley". As senior Entertainment partner juggling a busy banking
practice and dealing with management duties in the Toronto office of an international law
firm with over 200 lawyers (the senior most being Pierre Trudeau former prime
minister of Canada) she was used to wearing many hats. She is the most multi-tasked of the
crew; Captain, Sous Chef and Hostess. With her knack for attention to detail and her warm,
charming nature, each guest is made to feel, as though Riley is their home away from home.
Elizabeth shares her passion of cooking with Dan and guests will awake to the aroma of
freshly baked pastries and breads wafting throughout their cabins each morning. Some may
even want to snorkel a little longer each day after tasting her sinfully delicious
deserts.
Originally planning for retirement as Bed and Breakfast owners, both Elizabeth and Dan
decided that the ability to offer their special brand of hosting in different locations
was more appealing hence the idea for "The Life Of Riley" was born.
Guests will delight in the extra care and attention received aboard this floating 5 star
retreat.
