When you first see her beautiful blue hull and pristine decks you will be sure to

for chartering. She is as fresh as any new yacht and immaculately maintained from the
bilge to the top of the mast Lady Jane offers you comfort and beauty coupled with safety
and reliability for the ideal sailing vacation. With two equally spacious private queen
size guest staterooms she is ideal for two couples and can accommodate family groups of up
to six guests by utilizing the convertible sleeping areas in the salon. A third stateroom
for crew affords privacy for all.


A center cockpit sloop, Lady Jane has plenty of room on deck for sunning and lounging
and her frilly cushioned cockpit with a hard top and extended bimini provides a shady
repose to relax when you're not frolicking in the sun. The large teak cockpit table allows
you the option to enjoy al fresco dining in your beautiful tropical
surroundings. You are
welcome to take the helm and partake in the excitement of sailing the boat or just relax
with your favorite book while the crew efficiently take you to your next port of call. The
aft deck area is a great place to fish or to sit and discuss the days adventures while the
Captain grills up your fresh catch. Lady Jane is equipped with snorkel gear, fishing gear
and an inflatable tender with outboard to add to your enjoyment of the tropical waters.
Dive from the aft deck for a refreshing swim and rinse off in the freshwater deck shower
after an exciting day of snorkeling and swimming. A swim ladder is also provided for ease
of getting in and out of the water and for boarding the tender.
Below decks you will find a bright and spacious interior providing 6'5"
headroom and copious natural light from many overhead hatches and portlights. Her interior
is fresh and provides guests with comfortable surroundings to relax in leisure. Her
beautifully finished varnished teak cabinetry, teak accents and teak and holly cabin sole
throughout is contrasted by the bright white bulkheads and nautical decor with rope
accents. The large saloon area just forward of the center cockpit provides an ideal lounge
area for relaxing in air- conditioned comfort. Her U-shaped dining area with large teak
table comfortably seats four guests for meals and is a great place for a game of cards or
for reviewing the charts with the Captain while discussing the course of your voyage. The
long starboard settee also has a removable table which enables larger family groups to
comfortably dine together.


Gary Messick and Jane Arnold

Captain Gary Messick has spent the past few years sailing and exploring the
Florida Keys and Dry Tortugas. He knows these waters better than most and believes he has
found some of the finest spots. He has also enjoyed sailing in the Central Bahama islands
and is eager to entertain guests on the itinerary of their choosing. Retiring from
professional tennis in 1984, Gary still enjoys a good game as well as many other outdoor
activities including biking, snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing, and is particularly
pleased to provide a fresh seafood dinner for his guests.
After growing up in Annapolis, the sailing capital of the world and on the waters of
the Chesapeake Bay he expanded his cruising knowledge by heading out on an extensive
Caribbean tour on his own sailing sloop. Sailing to Bermuda, through the Bahamas and
through all the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Gary discovered a lifestyle of natural
beauty and unparalleled fun. Thoroughly enjoying the adventure of visiting new places and
making many friends along the way, he now shares his dream with others through chartering.
Gary holds a U.S.C.G. 50 ton Masters license with sail endorsement and has had many charter
guests wishing to improve their sailing skills and basic boating knowledge. He is well
qualified in providing easygoing instruction through his background teaching tennis and
counseling individuals. He also enjoys working with children and spent an entire summer
educating Boy Scouts in all aspects of safe boating and the intricacies of sailing.
Having completely overseen the entire refit of Lady Jane, Gary is skilled at
maintaining and repairing most mechanical systems on board. The safety and comfort of his
guests is paramount, and Gary's relaxed demeanor will put you at ease. He is a very good
listener enhancing his inherent talent for understanding his guests needs. He is easy to
talk to and maintains a flexible attitude enabling him to adapt the plans for your
itinerary to maximize your enjoyment while cruising aboard the Lady Jane.
Chef and Mate Jane Arnold grew up in Massachusetts and enjoyed sailing in the
New England waters around Cape Cod and the Elizabeth Islands. Since 1990 she has spent
extensive time sailing in the Florida Keys and the Bahama islands in the capacity of mate.
Her enthusiasm for boating combined with her love of entertaining and meeting new people
has made her success in all aspects or the boating hospitality industry a natural.
Growing up around the water and spending several years working on dive, snorkel and
excursion boats has afforded Jane a thorough background and good boat sense. She is a
skilled first mate and easily tends to her duties aboard while sharing with her guests the
wonder of this fantastic lifestyle. Having cooked and served for much larger groups, Jane
is at ease in the galley and takes pride in the meals she presents to her guests. Using
the freshest ingredients she enjoys creating healthy menus utilizing local flavors and has
many special recipes from appetizers to desserts. Her repertoire includes a wide variety
of vegetarian meals, and she particularly likes preparing fresh seafood for her guests.
Having baked with her mother as a child she also enjoys preparing homemade desserts. A
fresh batch of cookies hot out of the oven are sure to please after an active day of
snorkeling.
Jane encourages children to participate in the sailing as well as adults, and for those
who prefer to sit back and relax - you will enjoy her friendly and pleasant attention to
your needs. Jane loves animals and is a supporter of many local animal groups and a member
of Key West Kritter Patrol. She is very in-tune with the environment, and for those that
are interested she enjoys providing a subtle education about the ecology of an area. For
leisure Jane also enjoys bicycling, yoga and tennis, although she does not proclaim to be
a tough match for Gary.
Every day on board Lady Jane is considered a special occasion" and every guest is
treated to a personal touch that is sure to leave you cherishing your sailing experience.
