While

he
began
racing

In
2001,
Chad
and
his

Wendy
spent
a

sailing
Canadas

the

of
the

1st
Mate
Derek
Hall
Derek,
your
host
aboard
Irie,
looks
forward
to
extending
a
warm
welcome
to
his
guests.
Derek
has
spent
the
past
five
years
working
in
the
service
industry.
While
he
thoroughly
enjoys
all
aspects
of
this
industry,
his
true
passion
lies
in
the
hands-on
experience
of
dealing
directly
with
the
customer,
ensuring
that
they
are
catered
to
at
the
highest
level
of
standards
and
that
their
expectations
are
not
only
met,
but
exceeded.
Those
who
encounter
Derek
would
describe
him
as
personable,
easy-going,
and
very
attentive
to
detail.
His
obvious
care
and
interest
in
others
will
make
his
guests
feel
right
at
home
the
moment
they
step
aboard.
Dereks
love
of
the
water
began
while
living
in
the
Land
of
10,000
Lakes.
This
lure
of
the
water
is
what
led
him
to
the
islands
and
to
IRIE.
While
his
current
passion
is
sailing,
other
interests
include
snorkeling,
water
skiing,
kayaking,
and
fishing.
Derek
is
currently
working
on
his
PADI
Open
Water
certification
and
aspires
to
gain
his
instructor
certification.
Chef
Wendy
Crabtree
Wendy
grew
up
on
a
family
farm
in
Kentucky
where
fresh
fruits,
vegetables
and
meats
were
part
of
daily
living.
She
learned
cooking
southern
foods
from
her
Grandmother
and
Mother,
who
were
both
homemakers
and
excellent
at
entertaining
and
hosting
gatherings.
Wendy
received
her
Masters
Degree
in
Higher
Education,
Administration
and
Supervision,
and
worked
for
the
University
of
Tennessee
and
Oklahoma
State
University
for
eight
years.
In
1998,
she
moved
to
Seattle
and
worked
in
High
Tech.
She
started
sailing
on
Om
Shanti,
a
WestSail
32,
and
met
Chad
aboard
this
boat.
In
2001,
they
bought
a
Cal
31
and
took
a
year
off
work
and
sailed
Canadas
Inside
Passage
and
the
West
Coast
of
the
United
States
and
Mexico.
It
was
during
that
year
of
sailing
in
remote
areas
that
Wendy
reconnected
with
her
love
of
cooking.
Wendy
has
an
eclectic
menu
that
is
inspired
by
her
many
travels
and
the
areas
that
she
has
lived
such
as
Italy,
Morocco,
the
Pacific
Northwest,
California,
Mexico
and
the
Caribbean.
She
would
best
describe
her
cooking
style
as
California
Cuisine
with
a
Southern
and
Caribbean
flair.
Her
most
recent
chef
position
was
aboard
the
100
Power
Yacht
Bravo
which
wintered
in
the
Caribbean
and
summered
in
Nantucket.
In
this
capacity
she
had
the
opportunity
to
gain
experience
with
local
ingredients
available
in
the
Virgin
Islands
When
shes
not
in
the
galley,
Wendy
enjoys
sailing,
cycling,
rock-climbing,

spending
time
with
