to accommodate

Captain David
Kummerle has a BS in Education,
teaching sailing is his chosen niche, having learned himself at age 12. Having managed
Annapolis Sailing School’s St. Croix branch for 3 years, he is well acquainted with
guests' wants and bareboat companies' requirements. While certification is possible and
frequently achieved, experience has shown that most couples are lopsided. One wants to
learn to sail lots, while the other wants to snorkel, shop, relax and sight-see and NOT do
regimented school every day. He is a master at creating that blend to assure the perfect
vacation for both. Tour guide, fish, plant, bird and animal expert, historian, story
teller, fine chef and Master Mariner. You come as a stranger and leave as a friend.
Glory was built
in Tampa by Caribbean Sailing Yachts (CSY) for its bareboat fleet. Six LARGE opening
hatches keep the boat tradewinds cool, light and airy. She was designed for
two couples and is prefect with Captain David with one couple or family/friends of three. was built

Gay, lesbian and nude (or are
you supposed to say "clothing optional" now?) charters are fine. DRUGS ARE NOT!
This vessel participates in the United States Coast Guard's ZERO TOLERANCE program,
PERIOD.
At 37’, Glory is
large enough to be very comfortable yet small enough to "feel" the wind, wave,
rudder and sail pressures while learning. Larger boats cannot transmit this all important
"feel." Her modified full keel, moderate/heavy displacement, flush deck and
flexible cutter rig make her a safe, roomy, comfortable all weather boat.
 The
very private guest cabin is forward,
with an 88" wide king-sized berth, drawers, cabinets, shelves, hanging locker and its
own private toilet, face basin and shower.
The captain's cabin is separate aft.
 The dinette can seat up to six in comfort,
fine meals are prepared by the Captain/Chef (crew of One) in its well equipped galley with a very large freezer and two
refrigerators. Hot and
Cold pressurized water is available in the heads throughout the
boat. |

About David . . .
" I was born
and raised in Mount Vernon, N.Y., and grew up with my parents’ boats on Long Island
Sound. I learned to sail and race Penguins at the Echo Bay Yacht Club in New Rochelle at
age 12, and even tried the then brand new Sailfish and Sunfish! Saltwater got in my veins
early.
Right
after graduating college (State University of N.Y. at Oswego with a B.S. in Secondary
Education) in'65, I moved to St. Croix "for a year or two". I taught high school
science and art for nine years, scuba diving for two, owned and operated several
businesses including chemical sales, printing/graphic arts, advertising, and painted
watercolors professionally. Some "year or two!"
Within two
years of moving to St. Croix, I bought my first boat, a 30' center cockpit yawl as a bare
hull, completed it and sailed some 10,000 miles with my wife through the Virgins and
Leeward Islands. I then logged another 35,000 miles - racing and cruising perhaps two
dozen of my own and OPB's (and other people's boats) ranging in size from sunfish to a 80
footer. I owned a Montego 19 for 6 years and raced against Rhodes and O'Days very
successfully. I know small boats, balance and trim extremely well.
Glory is
my fourth boat, bought in'87 as a home for my oldest daughter and I, with
chartering in mind for sometime in the future after she left home. At this same time, I
taught basic and advanced sailing/cruising for Annapolis Sailing School, St. Croix, for
six months and then managed the facility, their second largest, for two and a half more
years. I love to teach and am very good at it. You can kick back and have a "take me
here, take me there" charter, an occasional turn at the helm, or a specifically
tailored course with firm goals in mind. is
