Miles Sutherland-Pilch & Lisa
Hart
Your Captain and Chef + 1 crew
Captain MILES
SUTHERLAND-PILCH, has over 40,000 sailing miles to his credit, including 4 trans-Atlantic
crossings and one trans-Pacific. He is a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster (Offshore)
and is an instructor for the American Sailing Assoc. He is a co-founder and director of
Transatlantic Windsurf Racing, the company that organized this years exciting race from
Newfoundland to Weymouth England. In 1995 he spent 5 months sailing the waters of Cuba
and Haiti as part of a sea mammal survey team that was particularly interested in the
current population of the endangered Caribbean Monk seal.
Chef LISA HART, Canadian, spent her summers in Bermuda, living on a sail boat and
socializing with the sailing community. These summers sparked a sense of adventure and
travel that could not wait for the completion of college. Previous temporary work in
Toronto at various restaurants was on invaluable in securing a position at the Last Resort
in the BVI. Soon she was being asked to cook on charter yachts. She embraced the
challenge, worked with established yacht chefs and attended culinary classes.
As her
cooking skills developed, so did the demand for her services, from small Bareboats
to
large crewed yachts. Following a sailing trip this summer to the San Blas Islands and a
tour of Panama and Costa Rica, she returned to the BVI as the chef aboard. You'll be
impressed and delighted with her creativity and flair, always the perfect meal for the
perfect occasion.
