Ed Griffin and Kate Marsh
Your Captain and Chef
Captain Edgar (Ed) Griffin, a 32 year old Englishman, raised in Cape Town, South Africa spent his youth pursuing a keen interest in windsurfing and the outdoors. After completing school he entered into the South African Medical services then moved into textile sales and the marketing industry.
Later he traveled to Europe and joined the ranks of the professional yachting community in the Mediterranean. After a few seasons as deckhand and mate on vessels ranging from the legendary J-class yachts to the futuristic aero rigs, he gained a RYA Yachtmaster Certificate.
He has extensive sailing experience and has logged over 60,000 miles between the Mediterranean, Caribbean and has completed 7 Atlantic crossings. He has competed in various regattas and yacht races.
His interests are para-gliding, windsurfing, snow skiing and is always happy to discuss current affairs. Ed loves to share his enthusiasm for sailing and windsurfing.
Kate Naish was born in Auckland, New Zealand. She grew up on the beach and became an avid dinghy sailor and rower. After completing school, she studied Architectural Drafting and Interior Design and worked as a Kitchen Designer and draftsperson before leaving New Zealand to travel around the world. While traveling around Europe she became involved in the sailing industry as a stewardess on chartering
superyachts. Katy has now found her niche in cooking, where her love of food and design marry together. She is a PADI open water diver and has her St. Johns First Aid Certificate.
