If one were to describe John, the words suave and debonair would not spring to mind. Affable, kind, friendly and an
unquenchable love for life would head the list. Born in South Africa, John graduated as an Accounting teacher and Physical
Education Instructor, and achieved much success in his profession over eleven years.
He ran a junior sailing program for two year at the Royal Yacht Club and also a a school sailing course, where he
introduced many children to the delight of the sea. As leader of an outdoor adventure club, a whitewater kayaking
enthusiast and mountaineer, John was able to spend much time in the African wilderness were he worked as a part-time
river guide. After cruising and racing keelboats off the South African coast for 15 years, the sunny climate and warm blue
waters of the Caribbean beckoned, and John decided to fulfill his dream of crossing the Atlantic in his own boat. Taking a
group of school children he had taught to sail as crew, he left
Cape Town. He headed for St. Martin where he became a charter boat captain, providing special memories for hundreds
of guests. He now has made the British Virgin Island his home where he has dive and sailed extensively to find the best
places to take his guests. Whether you want dazzling reefs, deserted beaches, windsurfing in palm fringed bays or a limbo
dance with a calypso band, he is the one to take you there.
Born in the Midlands of England, the call of the sea was extremely faint for Deborah. However, she did manage to
throw herself (sometimes literally!) into dinghy sailing, waterskiing, and rowing in freezing cold reservoirs and rivers
of inland England. After graduating from Oxford, she worked as a stockbroker and research analyst for five years, before
swapping her briefcase for a sailbag and heading west. Five years later, she had crossed the Atlantic twice (the first time
questioning her sanity and the second time knowing the answer), sailed the east coast of Florida, Bermuda,
throughout the Bahamas and Northern Caribbean. During that time, Deborah has worked as a cook on a variety
of charter boats, a private island, and also on a number of movies. In fact, she met John while they were both working
on the film "Speed II" in St. Martin and they were married three months later, obviously taking the movie title to heart.
They found that they had a lot in common, lot least her love of cooking and his love of eating. Deborah's cuisine reveals
the divers range of influence gained during her travels; European, American, Bahamian and Caribbean. Eclectic and
delicious. The food is complimented by John's repertoire of Caribbean cocktails, which he has perfected with an
awe-inspiring show of diligence (the mistakes are also good!!).
